We both got sunrise samplers. There was no spoon for the gravy or the grits.
Cracker barrel is a home-cooking restaurant that wants to put meat on everything. If you're going to try to go plant-based, you'll end up with sides only or a plain salad. I went with fish, and it was surprisingly good. Atmosphere is loud.
The waitress seemed put out when I asked for another couple spoons to eat the grits with.
Ordered hamburger steak well done (arrived crispy / burnt), okra (decent), hash brown casserole (soggy), and biscuits (over baked - hard to chew). Waitress was quick to greet us, but had to ask each for refills each time as she was not attentive to empty glasses sitting on the edge of the table for more than 10 minutes. I have ate at this location many times prior and the quality of the service and food was better than this evening.
I asked for coffee with cream and my husband got black coffee. When she brought it, I asked for a spoon to stir my coffee. She brought back what looked like a soup spoon.
Good food and service. It's close to Progress West hospital so its a nice place to eat if visiting family there. Good access from the highway.
We had no wait time at all. The waitress was there before we even sat down.
Cracker Barrel does very well in its niche. The food is all comfort food and the aesthetic works. If you're looking for a decent priced meal (breakfast served all day too) full of comfort food, you'll enjoy it.
